Congratulations, Nina! Truly authentic artists are few and far in between, but Nina Hagen - who turns 55 today - is one of the few artists who is authentic and truly talented. In the 1970’s she started with the Nina Hagen Band. Her colleagues then turned into Spliff, while Nina worked solo and stayed errorless. Watch the epic video for her 1979 release African Reggae here.
Well here’s the promo video for the next Goldfrapp track called Rocket, which not only features a desert-driving rocket truck, but incredibly strange music. Nightmare pop! Brighton trio Esben and the Witch have unveiled the video for their debut single, Lucia, at the Precipice. Released via the Too Pure Singles Club. Salt ‘N Pepa, anyone? Margreezy + Bishara + fashion designer Swanzy = RC$K from North London. With a sound they designate as a mix of ”old skool garage, grime, hip-hop” with a ”splash of indie, rock, pop, trance, funk”.
